About Us

Bruce founded BM Consultants in 2004 and built a steady relationship with many clients in and around Africa assisting them in building their brands. During 2014 he accepted a position with Sun International and later with Premier Hotels for a further 5 years. He then decided to re-launch his consulting company and Tuscan Hospitality was born in 2021.

Bruce McKay 

Bruce is an award-winning Hotel General Manager, Group Operations Manager, Executive Head Chef, Food Columnist, Hotel School Owner and Philanthropist with 30 years of experience at top hotel properties, highly skilled to provide meticulous attention to customer satisfaction for maximum value.

Below is a list of a few of his achievements over the last few years:

Sun City 2016- He is the current Chairman of the Academy of Chefs (Honorary Society for the SA Chefs Association)
- Founder of the Let’s Hear Foundation – serving those with hearing impediments
- Tuscan continues to consult on the entire F&B Operation for the Premier Hotel & Resorts Group including but  
   not limited  to drafting and implementation of the F&B SOP's and cost controls throughout the department
- From mid-2014 to mid-2016 Bruce played a pivot role in the realignment and insourcing of the complete F&B
  departments within Sun City. Involved in the set-up of several new restaurants and refurbishments that took  
  place across the resort
- Specialising in both single and multi-property operational management
- Proficient designer and trainer of courses for hospitality industry management. Strong focus on cost control
  and attention to detail
- He is a well-known food columnist and writes food columns and articles for various newspapers and
  magazines. He has also developed, owned and managed several of his own business enterprises, properties
  and consultancy business that boast many top companies as clients.
- A well-groomed individual with a vast amount of experience within all aspects of the hospitality industry. In
  conjunction with the Company Directors drew up annual budgets, instituted and monitored these budgets on a
  monthly basis through the financial review process
- Hired and trained all staff provided guidance and ensured that the highest of standards are maintained at all
  times.
- Further to this he is a well-travelled individual being fortunate enough to have visited more than 281 cities in 24
  different countries.
